We recognize that the demands of modern manufacturing, global sourcing and distribution, places pressure on our values to continually do better. We see life in a cycle and so too we take cradle to grave sustainability most seriously in our business, as we continually improve and reduce our footprint on this precious and finite earth.

We create products that deliver our customers great results in an ethical way. It is our way of saying to our customers that you want to look, feel and do good, well, so do we and here’s how we contribute to you living your values. This means our chemists work with organic, natural and naturally derived ingredients. The demands of creating products that deliver exceptional results means we work with the very best of science, such as our Olindum Complex technology, but we work hard not to compromise our commitment to keeping it natural. The way that we live this value is shown in our approach to reject common mineral or distilled water that our competitors use, instead choosing the pristine waters of the Olinda Spring in all our products.

Sourcing & Distribution

We are an Australian story and our natural and organic ingredients are proudly majority Australian sourced. However, our wider supply chain creates a much larger challenge to remain in keeping with our values, and this is especially so as our business is experiencing such profound change and growth. One way we are addressing this challenge is to consolidate our spending power. This gives us a positive influence and voice when working with leading suppliers that have strong quality systems and share in similar values for excellence, ethics and the environment. Distribution costs are a major tax on our environment and it makes sense to us to avoid where possible the unnecessary transportation of ingredients across the world, when it can be just as easily sourced locally. Even where it is more expensive to do so we think about the hidden costs and our true footprint in carbon, emissions and waste. Our approach extends to our logistics partners, as we adopted a world’s best approach to securing the attention and support of the most efficient hub and spoke carrier globally. This ensures that as we grow we have partners that are already way out in front and for us to catch. We have been rewarded for our efforts with wonderful Australian suppliers aligned in the common pursuit to create outstanding products in an ethical commercial model.

Manufacturing

Production is always at the front of our mind as we strive for outstanding quality produced in an ethically and environmentally responsible way. Our contract manufacturing approach does however pose us challenge on how we best work with our partners to live up to these values. One way we do this is we actively support our production facility with our chemist taking a leading role. This ensures that our manufacturer knows what we expect from them, and that the supply chain is correctly set up to ensure they can deliver the right specification. As we move into the global market it is placing unprecedented pressure to be better and comply with more and strict requirements, such as different quality systems. But we believe that our focus on centralization and collaboration provides us the greatest scope for positive influence and outcomes.
